Base maps are designed to have other data overlayed onto them, they are the base layer of information most often used to add context to the data.

The 3 primary types used are:

These and many other base maps can be viewed and accessed in web service format from the Queensland Government Spatial Portal.

Imagery is the most current openly licensed imagery, restricted imagery cannot be utilised

Topographic basemaps do not include back ground imagery they do however include roads, rail etc

  • No labels
