QSpatial changes to address content in cadastral datasets

What’s happening?

As part of our cloud migration program for spatial services, the address data source layer used in the following cadastral dataset pre-packaged data downloads was replaced with different source data:

• Cadastral data weekly - whole of State Queensland

• Cadastral data weekly - whole of State Queensland GDA2020

Existing address data available as these separate products are unchanged:

• Property address Queensland – Text data package

• Property address Queensland – by area of interest

The Land Parcel Property Framework (LPPF) web service Addresses (layer 0) will also have a new data source with slight changes to attribute content.

The current LPPF service from https://gisservices is now deprecated, and you will need to use the new LPPF service at https://spatial-gis in these services, Addresses (layer 0) will have a new data source with slight changes to attribute content:

• WMS - https://spatial-gis.information.qld.gov.au/arcgis/services/PlanningCadastre/LandParcelPropertyFramework/MapServer/WMSServer

• Map Server - https://spatial-gis.information.qld.gov.au/arcgis/rest/services/PlanningCadastre/LandParcelPropertyFramework/MapServer

What is the impact?

• An older address dataset, referred to as ‘Address_QAMF’ (QAMF), is being deprecated. This will be replaced in the products above with the newer address dataset referred to as ‘Location_Address’ (Location address).

• There should be minimal impact on users of these datasets, as the newer products have been available for some time.

• The Location address dataset more closely mirrors requirements of the AS/NZS 4819:2011 Rural and urban addressing standard.

• The increased field options available in the Location address data allows for more user flexibility when querying the data, as well as assisting with easier rules for auto-generated cartography.

• Location address data does not include a postcode component in the address string, as this is not managed by Resources. The focus of this data is location-based and is not intended to be postal addressing.

• Location address data includes floor information, which QAMF did not.

• More details of the changes to the content and names are highlighted in the further information below.

Schema changes

• UNIT_NUMBER has been split into UNIT_NUMBER and UNIT_SUFFIX fields

• Floor (level) information is provided

• PLACE_NAME is replaced by PROPERTY_NAME

• Additional street number fields are included to provide more details of street number components

• CITY_PLACE has been split into two fields of LOCALITY and LOCAL_AUTHORITY

• ADDRESS field no longer has the local authority name appended on the end in brackets to every record, except in those records where the locality exists in more than one Local Government Area

• STATUS is replaced by ADDRESS_STATUS

• LOTPLAN_STATUS is a new field

• Coordinates are provided for geocode locations

• Postcode is not included

• Some field lengths have changed (see table below)
