The length of the through jetty (walkway) is used to calculate its Upper Scale value e.g., In a marina, a long through jetty (walkway) is captured as a single feature and has a length of 300 metres. This will then have an Upper Scale value of 1:100 000. The small pontoons that come off this through jetty (walkway) are all merged and given an Upper Scale value of 1:25 000 no matter the combined length of the lines.
