For the purposes of the Queensland Topographic Data Schema, the 'Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development' shall hereafter be referred to as 'the Department.

The Queensland Digital Topographic Dataset (Topographic Information) is an amalgamation of spatial data representing the diverse geographic features of Queensland. This data incorporates inputs from a variety of sources, levels of precision, methodologies of data acquisition, and time periods. The primary objective of this dataset is to provide a cartographic portrayal of Queensland's natural and constructed features and should be interpreted and utilised correctly. In most instances, feature capture adheres to the rules and regulations stated of each capture process, however occasionally a need to go outside these parameters occurs, the professional discretion of the operator is then utilized in the capture and the data is attributed accordingly.

Use limitations may apply when data is used for purposes other than those specified in the Queensland Digital Topographic Data Schema (this document), or data features are portrayed outside elements of their methodology.

Users of the information offered in the Queensland Digital Topographic Dataset (Topographic Information) accept all responsibility and risk associated with the use of the Information.  Users are responsible for verifying the data's appropriateness for their intended applications and for any conclusions or actions derived from its use and should seek independent professional advice in relation to dealings with Queensland Digital Topographic Dataset (Topographic Information).
