•          The landward end of the jetty either abuts or is coincidence with the coastline or shoreline

•          The Feature Type “Coastline” does not follow the shape of the jetty into the sea.

•          In marinas, merge adjacent small pontoons which protrude from the through jetty (walkway) into a multi-line feature. The length of these combined pontoons is not used to calculate the Upper Scale value. These are classified with an Upper Scale of 1:25 000 no matter the combined length. The length of the through jetty (walkway) is used to calculate its Upper Scale value e.g., In a marina, a long through jetty (walkway) is captured as a single feature and has a length of 300 metres. This will then have an Upper Scale value of 1:100 000. The small pontoons that come off this through jetty (walkway) are all merged and given an Upper Scale value of 1:25 000 no matter the combined length of the lines.

SEAWALL

Definition: A solid structure usually of concrete masonry or earth, built to prevent erosion or encroachment by the sea.
