A Unique Feature Identifier (UFI) is generated for each new feature at the point of creation in the database (at this point the PFI and UFI will be the same). The value of the UFI will stay with the feature through all changes to the feature (both spatial and non-spatial) unless the feature is split into multiple other parts. BUILT-UP AREA

 

Definition: An urban or peri-urban settlement where cadastral parcel are less than 2.5 hectares and which have residential, commercial, or industrial buildings constructed on them.

 

 

Alternate Terms: BUA

 

 

·         Capture the general outline of the area as a 2D polygon

·         The Cadastre is used to delineate the extent of the feature; otherwise, the general outline is plotted from orthorectified imagery

·         Note: Generally, areas of open space, long term underdeveloped land or airports are excluded from the built-up Area polygon

·         The Land Use codes obtained from QVAS are used to determine the usage of the land.
